In the midst of a particularly scary historical moment, my brilliant big brother said to me: “I still believe that love is the most powerful force in the world.”
He was right.
You want a commitment ceremony that reflects your values, your creativity and your joy. I am honored to help.
Your wedding, your way
I began officiating weddings in 2007 when two dear friends asked me to lead theirs in Seattle. Preparing for that event, I became ordained online through the Universal Life Church. I’ve since been further ordained as clergy and high clergy in ceremonies through the Mystic Arts Gathering and Information Circle in Vancouver, Washington. M.A.G.I.C. is a federally recognized nonprofit, on record with the U.S. government as conscientiously objecting to all war and violence.
In the intervening years I have had the great pleasure of helping many couples declare their commitment. These may be legal weddings, handfastings, vow renewals or whatever you desire. I am happy to support all intentional commitments. Love is love.
The ceremonies I create are customized, eclectic and nondenominational. Some are entirely secular, others incorporate a variety of traditions based on the celebrants’ preferences. We will work together to find the perfect combination for you.
Other clergy services
I also am available for clergy services including spiritual counseling, space clearing, plant-spirit medicine, biophilia practices, plant and landscape attunements, decouplings, funerals and life-passage rituals and more.

What people have to say
“My wife, Suzan, and I were looking for someone to officiate our small, informal wedding on the beach. Orna was very helpful in sitting down with us to talk through what elements we wanted and how to capture the joyous mood we wanted. We had a simple wedding with classic elements (ring exchange, our own vows), but without any religious element. Orna struck just the right tone both before and during the ceremony itself.” — Jonathan
“Orna’s energy was exactly what we needed for our wedding. She officiated the ceremony, and I couldn’t have asked for a more grounded and magical experience. Neither my husband nor I wanted a ceremony that was overly religious, and Orna provided the right mix of spirituality and reality in the words she shared. She met with us before the event and talked us through what we could expect, making sure it was as we had envisioned. And everything went smoothly and beautifully on our wedding day! I would ask her to marry us again if we ever decide to renew our vows!” — Cindy + Troy
“We wanted our wedding to be a community celebration, not just about us. With very little guidance from us, you created a full ceremony with rituals and words that had meaning for us. It was beautiful symbolism for us, it fit really well.” — Cheryln
